46 SUNY Oneonta student athletes earned dual academic honors this spring from the State University of New York Athletic Conference for their performance in the classroom.

The State University of New York at Geneseo has announced its Dean's List for the Spring Semester 2016. To be on the list, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.

A total of 1,469 SUNY Oneonta students earned Dean's List honors for the spring 2016 semester. To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must earn a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 hours or more.

Nineteen students and five faculty leaders recently returned from a study abroad trip to Arezzo, Italy. This was the third annual Arezzo trip where students were able to reside and study at the Accademia dell'Arte in Arezzo. From Arezzo the students traveled to various Tuscan towns such as Assisi, Orvieto, Cortona, Florence, Siena and Rome.

Over 100 Ithaca College students have been inducted into Phi Kappa Phi, one of the country's oldest and most selective honor societies.

53 student athletes competed for the SUNY Oneonta women's track and field team during 2015-16.

Twenty-two SUNY Oneonta students are spending part of their summer volunteering in Bolivian schools through a unique faculty-led field course in collaboration with Save the Children International. Accompanied by Brett Heindl, associate professor of political science, and Alejandra Escudero, lecturer in Spanish, the students will spend two weeks immersing themselves in Bolivian culture and doing service-learning projects in elementary schools, high schools and in the Save the Children offices.

Assumption College has announced that 561 students named to the College's undergraduate Dean's List for the spring 2016 semester. To earn a spot on the Dean's List, Assumption students must achieve a grade point average of 3.5 for a five-class, 15-credit semester. The Dean's List is announced twice every academic year, once at the completion of the fall semester, and again at the completion of the spring semester. "The Dean's List is a recognition of students who have attained significant academic achievements," said Assumption College President Francesco Cesareo, Ph.D. "The College is proud to formally recognize its top scholars whose dedication, hard work and commitment to their studies, are forming them to become effective leaders whom others will seek to emulate.

Approximately 1,940 students have made the Spring Semester 2016 Dean's List for academic achievement at Coastal Carolina University.

The State University of New York at Potsdam will recognize more than 1,000 candidates for graduation during the College's Bicentennial Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 21. The graduating Class of 2016 will be honored at a special ceremony befitting SUNY Potsdam's 200th anniversary.

SUNY Oneonta recently recognized 194 students who have attained leadership milestones through the college's LEAD (Leadership Education and Development) program. LEAD@Oneonta is a comprehensive leadership program based on current research and guidelines from the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education.

University of Scranton students are inducted into national and international academic honor societies.

SUNY New Paltz students participated in the 2016 Business Plan Contest.

A total of 139 students received the SUNY Oneonta 2015-2016 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher.

Seven SUNY Oneonta students presented papers at the college's eighth annual Undergraduate Political Science Conference on April 1. The conference featured a keynote address titled "Incarceration Rates in the U.S." by Dr. Peter Enns, associate professor in the Department of Government and executive director of the Roper Center for Public Opinion Research at Cornell University.

SUNY New Paltz student-athletes selected for the SUNYAC 2016 All-Tournament Team.

SUNY New Paltz captured its second-ever State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) title and an automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament.

Twenty-one students were inducted into SUNY Oneonta's Beta Eta Chapter of the Chi Alpha Epsilon national honor society on Feb. 17. Chi Alpha Epsilon was formed in 1989 to recognize the academic achievements of students admitted to colleges and universities through nontraditional criteria. Beta Eta Chapter members are full-time Educational Opportunity Program and College Assistance Migrant Program students who have held a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher for at least two consecutive semesters.

Loyola University Maryland has announced the members of its fall 2015 Dean's List. In order to qualify for the Dean's List at Loyola, a student must achieve a minimum QPA of at least 3.500 for the term, provided that, in the term they have successfully completed courses totaling a minimum of 15 credits.

The following people recently were initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines.

Eta Kappa Nu (HKN) is the international electrical and computer engineering honor society of the IEEE.

To be eligible for the President's List, students must earn a 4.0 GPA for the semester and complete at least nine semester hours of academic credit with no incompletes.

Hall government members are responsible for creating community within their residence halls.

SUNY New Paltz was one of 130 women's swimming teams across NCAA Division III to be named a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the fall of 2015, as announced by the CSCAA.
